A great time for Mike Piazza at watch party
Mike Piazza, who will be inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame this summer, put his best wrist forward Wednesday night for an intimate VIP dinner hosted by Haute Living magazine at the Gran Paraiso sales center in the Edgewater area.
The former New York Mets catcher, 47, was celebrating Swiss luxury watch brand Ulysse Nardin’s store opening in the Design District earlier that day. For the baseball great’s troubles, Piazza went home with a spanking new watch .
On the menu: scallops encrusted with spice du jour; fennel pollen; roasted seabass; and pears poached in Lambrusco wine.
MODEL’S NIGHT OUT
Veteran Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima was spotted at Brickell cabaret hot spot El Tucán with a gaggle of girlfriends last weekend. Wearing a black lacy dress, Lima sipped on the club’s signature cocktail: El Tucán by Bar Lab (Absolut Elyx vodka mixed with fresh lemon and watermelon juice, lychees and St. Germain liqueur). The group arrived for the first show at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, and they were having so much fun (blame the lychees) they ended up staying for the second show. Word is various guests approached the bombshell for pics, and she happily complied.
HEALTH CRISIS
Mob Wives star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola — who back in 2013 starred in VH1 reality show Miami Monkey, named after her now shuttered bar in South Beach — is dealing with some serious health issues. Raiola’s family has created a GoFundMe page seeking $25,000 for alternative cures for the reality star’s throat cancer, which has metastasized to her brain and lung.
