Joe Jackson in ICU; Sinead O’Connor’s son ill

Sinead O’Connor has nixed all her gigs for the rest of the year while she cares for her seriously ill son, reports the Irish Mirror. In a Facebook post, the singer did not reveal the child’s “life threatening medical condition” that he was diagnosed with in March.
Michael Jackson’s father Joe Jackson is in the ICU unit at a Sao Paolo hospital after has suffering a stroke, three heart attacks and subsequent emergency surgery, TMZ reports. The patriarch’s publicist tells the site Jackson was in Brazil to celebrate his 87th birthday. Jackson has suffered minor strokes in the past, including one in 2012.
STABBING DEATH
A California man was charged with murdering his girlfriend, whose life as a lawyer was depicted on a short-lived reality show on SundanceTV, Loredena, Esq. The charge against Robert Reagan, 51, of Redondo Beach was filed two days after the death of 47-year-old Loredana Nesci. Reagan’s attorney, Shepard Kopp, said in a statement that his client was defending himself after Nesci attacked him with a hunting knife. The arraignment is set for Aug. 20.
SOMETHING FISHY
A star of TV’s Wicked Tuna has been indicted on federal fraud charges. The four-count indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Burlington, Vermont, says Paul Hebert claimed to be disabled and unable to work while he was catching fish and appearing on the National Geographic Channel reality show. It alleges that Hebert accepted a little more than $44,000 in Social Security and Medicaid benefits between 2010 and 2013. Hebert’s attorney, Robert Goldstein, says his client is innocent.
