Don’t worry, Nick Cannon fans. A trip to the hospital for the TV personality was just “a temporary pit stop,” he wrote on Instagram Wednesday with a picture of himself looking somber, attached to what appears to be an EKG. The explanation: “Sometimes I can be a little too bull headed and stubborn. I gotta stop running my body to the ground. I be wanting to grind nonstop but the engine can’t run on fumes.” In 2012, Cannon was diagnosed with lupus nephritis, an autoimmune disease. But it’s unclear if this recent hospitalization is related to his condition.

STEPPING UP

No more bad blood. Or so we hope. Taylor Swift has apologized to Nicki Minaj after trading e-words over the MTV Video Music Awards nominations. Swift tweeted that she thought she was “being called out” by Minaj, adding, “I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke.” It all started when Minaj complained that she wasn’t given a video of the year nod for Anaconda, and would have been had she been “a different kind of artist.” Caught up, yet? Regardless, Minaj is nominated for three awards, including best female video and hip-hop video.

HIGHER LEARNING

First lady Michelle Obama is teaming up with rapper Wale to help college-bound teens overcome obstacles and succeed in college. More than 130 students were at the White House on Thursday for a “beating the odds” summit. The Grammy nominee told the students he didn’t take education seriously at first and hoped he’d end up in the NFL. Wale said he landed on academic probation at first, but college eventually taught him to be self-made and “take the training wheels off” in life.

SINGLE LIFE

Country star Miranda Lambert jumped on stage and sang at a small club in Nashville, two days after announcing her divorce from husband Blake Shelton. The Grammy-winning singer was all smiles on Wednesday night as she joined her friend and singer Ashley Monroe in singing Heart Like Mine, which she co-wrote with Monroe, who was celebrating a new album with other country artists like Vince Gill at the venue. No, Lambert was not wearing her wedding ring, a la Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, who apparently still do for the sake of the kids.

LEGAL OPTIONS

Just because Kourtney Kardashian never married Scott Disick doesn’t mean their custody fight isn’t going to get ugly. The oldest sibling in the reality family has met with top Hollywood divorce attorney Laura Wasser, reports Yahoo! News, and is seeking sole custody of their three kids, ages 5, 3, and 7 months.

WE ARE FAMILY

Kandi Burruss is expecting her first child with husband, former Bravo line producer Todd Tucker, reports E! News. The 39-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta star told the website, “It's a dream come true.” Tucker and the Grammy-winning songwriter tied the knot in April 2014; each has a daughter from a previous relationship.

PLOT THICKENS

This star sighting is interesting: Kit Harington, whose Game of Thrones character was unceremoniously killed off last month in the season five finale, was seen near the Belfast, Ireland, GOT set on Tuesday. So inquiring minds want to know ... what do the scriptwriters have cooking?

STUMBLING BLOCK

A Los Angeles judge says he doesn’t have the authority to make new orders in actress Kelly Rutherford’s international child-custody battle because she has moved to New York. Superior Court Judge Mark Juhas ruled Thursday that he doesn’t have jurisdiction to intervene in her case because she no longer lives in California.
