Zoe Kravitz hits the beach; Lil Wayne drama at LIV

Zoe Kravitz has no problem with the blazing Miami heat. Having lived here in her teens, the Insurgent actress knows the best place to hang your hat in the summer is the beach. Kravitz, daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, was caught on camera Sunday in a string bikini dousing in the surf, then sipping on a beverage served in a coconut. The 26- year-old told Nylon’s cover issue she’s very much single and the rumors that she was dating Chris Pine and Drake were just that.

SUMMER LOVIN’

It’s catchy. It’s repetitive. It’s jazzy. It’s one of the biggest hits of the summer. Cheerleader by Jamaica’s reggae fusion artist Omi is just one of the songs you can’t get out of your head after listening to it a few times. The trumpet heavy ditty, first released in 2012 and then remixed last year, is about a man’s love for a woman who is his “queen,” and is so loyal, he would never think of cheating her on her. Imagine!

The video was shot on Haulover Beach, north of Bal Harbour. The entertainer (born Omar Pasley) told the Sun Sentinel why South Florida was chosen as the site: “We wanted to stay true to the essence of the song,” said Omi of the clip featuring young people dancing and playing soccer. “A constant warm sunshine-playful vibe, and we did.”

Well, listen up tourist board, folks: By Tuesday afternoon, it had, oh, just around 55 million views on YouTube.

HONORING FRANK

The Fontainebleau never forgets. The Miami Beach hotel will celebrate the legacy of Frank Sinatra and his upcoming centennial birthday with a 100-day homage kicking off Sept. 2 to Dec. 12, 2015, which would have been Ol’ Blue Eyes’ 100th. The legendary singer often performed to packed houses at the iconic property’s La Ronde nightclub and even filmed three movies there — A Hole in the Head, Tony Rome and Lady in Cement. Expect such offerings as a photo exhibit, in-room amenities and Sinatra-themed cocktails (hint: Jack Daniel’s).

ALL WET

So this happened. Lil Wayne got doused with liquids while performing at LIV Sunday night. Video of the incident on TMZ makes it appear that someone sitting in the VIP section with Bryan “Birdman” Williams did the deed. Weezy and Cash Money Records head Birdman are currently feuding in court over millions of dollars over the delayed release of Wayne’s album Tha Carter V and other things. But that just seems plain immature.

THEY DO

Who knew? Sam Champion can marry folks. The Weather Channel reporter and part-time Miami resident officiated the Saturday wedding of his former Good Morning America coworker Josh Elliott and WABC-TV news anchor Liz Cho in Montecito, California. Champion’s hubby, local artist Rubem Robierb, was proud, tweeting a picture of the ceremony, congratulating the couple and his “better half.”
