Want to get tested for COVID-19? Rapper Flo Rida’s mobile unit may be rolling your way
Flo Rida wants to get his home state back to work.
The local rapper has launched Asktabs Mobile Wellness Center in the reopening phase of the coronavirus era, TMZ first reported.
The “Whistle” singer teamed up with his personal physician, Dr. George Tabi, for the mobile site, which can reportedly test up to 1,500 people in one day.
“Where wellness meets convenience,” says a post on Tabi’s website.
The mobile testing truck’s first visit was to The Metro Wrapz sign store in Hollywood.
“Me and my team wanted to do our part in bringing back the city to its feet sooner and most importantly stronger!” Flo wrote on Instagram Wednesday alongside a screenshot of the TMZ story. “[S]o glad we were able to bring Covid-19 testing here. God bless!”
The experience was easy and (practically) painless, said Metro Wrapz COO Stuart Rubin, reporting that testing was done last week with a prick of the finger.
“I had heard a lot of things about the painful swab down your nose,” he said. “But this was nothing, and we got the results the same day.”
The whole process, a serology test that looks for the presence of antibodies, was set up for about 30 employees and took four to five hours, he said.
“I think it’s great what Flo Rida is doing,” Rubin said. “The more people tested the better.”
