‘Sorry about the pandemic:’ Chad Ochocinco tips big at newly reopened Cuban restaurant
No one can accuse Chad Ochocinco of being a cheapskate.
The former Miami Dolphins player left a hefty tip on his lunch Monday, which marked the first day that restaurants in Broward and Miami-Dade could allow patrons to dine in after a shelter-in-place order back in March.
Ochocinco, born Chad Johnson, tweeted a picture of the check from Havana’s Cuban Cuisine in Cooper City. You can see the baller left $1,000 on a tab of $37.40 for servers of the Cuban eatery.
“Congrats on reopening,” Johnson wrote at the bottom of the bill. “Sorry about the pandemic, hope this helps.”
Then at the very end: “I love you.”
Johnson also jotted “Proverbs 11:25” on the post, a Biblical verse that includes, “He that watereth shall be watered also himself.”
Ochocinco’s generosity has made headlines before. Back in 2017, the ex NFL wide receiver treated 200 strangers to a screening of “Baywatch.”
