‘I’m a rock’: Janet Jackson explains title of world tour. And it kicks off in Miami

Miami’s first.

We get Janet Jackson before anyone else.

Concert promoter Live Nation announced Monday that Jackson’s Black Diamond World Tour 2020 kicks off June 24 in Miami at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Her two following stops are also in Florida: June 26 at Amway Center in Orlando and June 27 at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

The shows are an “all new production,” featuring Jackson’s latest tracks from her forthcoming record “Black Diamond.”

The 53-year-old entertainer, who gave birth to her first child, son Eissa Al Mana in January 2017, will also perform her greatest hits off of 12 multi-platinum albums.

The tour will visit major cities across the U.S. and Canada including Atlanta, Philadelphia, Toronto and Dallas.

On her Instagram page, Jackson explained the meaning behind the title of her album and tour:

“Black Diamonds are the toughest of all the diamonds, the hardest to cut. I see that as the hardest to hurt or destroy. There is a lot that I have endured. I see myself as a Black Diamond in its purest form. I’m a rock, I have ruff edges but I keep moving forward. I want to show you my strength as well as give you strength.”

Tickets go on sale at noon Thursday, Feb. 13 at LiveNation.com.
