Prince Harry, Meghan Markle spotted at private event in South Beach, reports say

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly made their first public appearance since leaving the royal family in what people have begun to call “Megxit” — and it was during an event at South Beach.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted Thursday night during a private JPMorgan event at 1 Hotel South Beach, 2341 Collins Ave. in Miami Beach, according to multiple reports.

Details about the event are hush-hush, but The New York Post says they might have been attending the JPMorgan Alternative Investment Summit, which is held annually in the Miami area.

Harry gave a speech at the event, according to People.com.

It’s unclear if Harry was paid for the speech but the gig would match the couple’s plans to become financially independent of the Crown following their decision last month to step back from their senior royal duties and split their time between the United Kingdom and North America.

There’s no word yet if baby Archie went with them or not, but we’re sure someone would have leaked adorable photos of him by now if he had.

JPMorgan did not immediately respond to the Miami Herald’s request for comment. A spokesman for Harry and Meghan was not immediately available to be reached.
