Winning! ‘The Voice’ crowns teen folk singer; Rumer Willis takes mirrorball on ‘DWTS’

How refreshing. Sawyer Fredericks doesn’t want to go the route of many reality competition champions. The newly crowned winner of The Voice said during a press conference Tuesday night that he wants to get back to his farm in upstate New York and take a bit of a chill pill. “I do not want to move to L.A.!” said Fredericks, a 16-year-old folk singer who had Pharrell Williams as mentor on the NBC show.

Over on ABC, Rumer Willis was equally stoked to take home the win on Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday night’s finale with partner Val Chmerkovskiy. The 26-year-old didn’t dedicate her mirrorball trophy to famous parents Demi Moore and Bruce Willis but to her fans who have issues with self confidence. “I hope that it stands for all of that and for anyone who didn’t think that they deserved to do something or couldn’t do something or wasn’t capable,” Willis told UsWeekly.

For delivering the commencement address at the University of Houston Matthew McConaughey was paid more than $100,000, reports The Oscar winner delivered such pearls of wisdom as “Life is not easy,” “Unbelievable is the stupidest word in the dictionary,” and “Happiness is not the same as joy.” Gotcha, dude!

Jon and Kate Gosselin are headed to court in June for custody of one of their daughters, Hannah, reports In Touch. Jon is seeking full custody of the 11-year-old after she confessed to him that she was afraid of her mother, an insider told the publication. The source added that Kate took off for four days last week, leaving her eight children with a nanny. “Kate is supposed to give Jon first right of refusal to take care of the kids when she goes away, and she didn’t.”
