Years before Kim Kardashian was even born, there was another famous person whose name started with the letter K.

That’d be Kool, aka Robert Bell, nickname for the lead singer/bassist of Kool & the Gang.

The Ohio born, New Jersey raised musician keeps on keeping on. He’ll bring the funk meets jazz meets disco band to the Fontainebleau BleauLive Friday night for a mashup of hits from over the years.

The set will have your favorites from over the years 1970s Hollywood Swinging, Jungle Boogie, Summer Madness, Ladies Night to Celebration, Fresh and Cherish.

How do they still keep it, well, fresh?

“Last year we did over 100 shows,” says Bell from his home in the Garden State. “I eat healthy, work out, get through it. We still got some gas left!”

Definitely. A new album is in the works, due out in September.

“It’s a mix of contemporary and jazz and a little rock,” Bell explains.

Rock? Yes, Kool & the Gang have range. Fans may recall they even toured with Van Halen in 2012. The band, which includes two of his brothers, have also opened for Kid Rock and the Dave Matthews band.

“We like to stay on the cutting edge,” says Bell, who also plans a book, which will hopefully turn into a movie about the group which originated in 1964. “We’ve been able to roll with the times, make changes every 10 years or so.”

Dream collaboration? “On the younger side of the fence? Bruno Mars. He kind of has our sound down.”

Show packages begin at $99, which includes one pass to the concert, two hours’ open bar and validated discounted parking for $12. BleauLive.com; 305-674-4641.

EASY BREEZY

Little known fact: Actress Emmanuelle Chriqui is a South Florida girl — sort of. She tells the May/June issue of Ocean Drive magazine that her father and stepmother moved to Delray Beach when Chriqui was in her early 20s. “Every time I’d visit, I’d of course have to hit Miami,” says the costar of the upcoming Entourage movie, adding, “Everything’s easy here!” The Canadian’s favorite stops are well rounded: Canyon Ranch for pampering; and for eating, anywhere from Soho Beach House to “Cuban mom-and-pop places,” she says. Another tie to the area: her boyfriend, soap actor Adrian Bellani (Passions), was born in Miami.

KYLIE’S DAY OUT

There will be a Jenner in our midst next month. The youngest one, Kylie, is taking up the mantle on the promotional front. The 17-year-old, who recently fessed up to getting lip fillers to achieve her highly coveted plump pout, will walk the red carpet at the opening of the Sugar Factory American Brasserie at the Victor Hotel June 19. Since she is just a teenager, there is a good chance mom Kris Jenner will be along for the ride.
