American Eagle Outfitter’s lingerie and swim brand, Aerie, is gathering more than 1,500 women at the Mondrian Hotel Pool on Saturday to create the world’s largest un-retouched selfie for their #aerieREAL, Love Your Real Selfie campaign. Aerial photographer Gray Malin will shoot, Parenthood star Mae Whitman (The Duff) will appear and DJ Hannah Bronfman will spin. Speed demon Helio Castroneves just bought a two-bedroom, 21/2-bath place in the South Tower at North Miami Beach’s Marina Palms Yacht Club & Residences in the price range of $900K to $1.1 million. “By living in South Florida you are automatically lured by the ocean,” Castroneves said. “Having a private boat club will make enjoying the water as simple as turning the key, untying the lines and heading down the Intracoastal.”

Fellow athlete Martina Navratilova recently bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house at 1771 Cleveland Road in Miami Beach for 2 million smackers. The pink-single story looks a tad modest on the outside; but the backyard, complete with tiki hut, has a jaw-dropping water view. The tennis icon, who married onetime Russian beauty queen Julia Lemigova late last year, also recently took on coaching duties. According to The New York Times, Navratilova is attempting to help Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska win a Grand Slam title.
Publisher’s Weekly released the shortlist for its annual Bookstore of the Year honors — and Miami-Dade’s own Books & Books is one of the contenders.
“It’s a testament to the great people who work with us at Books & Books,” said owner Mitchell Kaplan. “It’s an honor to be included with such a distinguished group of bookstores.”
Other contenders: Left Bank Books in St. Louis, Missouri; McLean & Eakin Booksellers in Petoskey, Michigan; Powell’s Books in Portland, Oregon, and Village Books in Bellingham, Washington. The winner will be announced in April.
