Authors, jazz at Olympia

Like to read? Like music? Then head to the Olympia Theater in downtown Miami Wednesday for the latest free installment of the “In the Lobby Lounge. . .WORDS!” series.

At the event, local authors Chantel Acevedo, J.J. Colagrande, Stacy Conde and Vanessa Garcia will read a piece, and each reading will be followed by a short jazz interpretation of the work by the Gary Thomas Quintet. Doors open at 6 p.m.; readings start at 6:30 p.m. At intermission, you can take a guided tour of the historic theater, at 174 Flagler St. in Miami. There will be a cash bar if you get thirsty.
