What do you recommend?

“My daughter and I just read and loved Extraordinary Means by Robin Schneider. It’s one of the current crop of “sick lit” young-adult novels (in the vein of The Fault in Our Stars), but with an interesting twist: Set in the near future, it involves teens in a sanitarium for a new resistant strain of tuberculosis. I always loved boarding school novels, so this one just did it for me. It was funny and, of course, heartbreaking.”

Alex Flinn, author of Mirrored, Towering and Beastly

Flinn appears at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Barnes & Noble, 12405 N. Kendall Dr, Miami
