Edwidge Danticat will talk and read at Miami’s YoungArts
Haitian-American writer Edwidge Danticat, a MacArthur “genius” grant winner and the acclaimed author of numerous books including Breath, Eyes, Memory and Brother, I’m Dying, will be the next featured artist in the YoungArts Salon Series. Carla Hill, YoungArts’ 1990 winner in theater, will moderate a discussion with Danticat, who will also read from her work.
The Tuesday event begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by the discussion-reading at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 ($28 for members, $20 for students). The YoungArts campus is at 2100 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. For information, call 305-377-1140 or visit www.youngarts.org/salonseries.
