GableStage’s Joe Adler to receive Champion of the Arts Award
Producing artistic director of GableStage Joe Adler is receiving the Champion of the Arts Award Jan. 24 during a luncheon planned by Citizens Interested in the Arts, a nonprofit that raises funds to benefit South Florida’s visual and performing arts groups. According to the organization, Adler has won 59 Carbonell Awards, a Clio, a Remy and a Silver Palm, as well as the George Abbott Award. Last year, FIU’s School of Architecture and the Arts appointed him to the Dean’s Leadership Advisory Board. He is credited with refurbishing and relaunching the former Coconut Grove regional theater.
