'Friends' Makes Unexpected Netflix Comeback Years After Leaving the Streamer

Millions of Netflix subscribers can finally binge watch Friends again!

Years after Warner Bros. Discovery pulled the beloved '90s sitcom from Netflix as it expanded HBO Max globally, Friends has quietly returned to the streaming service across dozens of international markets. While Netflix subscribers in the United States, Canada, and several other major territories are still out of luck, the surprise comeback marks one of the show's biggest streaming expansions in years.

According to Collider, just days after Friends made its surprise return, the hit landed on Netflix's Top 10 TV Shows worldwide list.

Fans in France, Netherlands, Mexico, Australia, Estonia, Romania, UAE, and New Zealand, are flocking to binge the show's 10 seasons, according to fans in those regions. Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and the United States must still stream the series elsewhere.

Friends was once a staple of the Netflix library. However, with the emergence of Warner Bros.' own streamer, HBO Max, the series was pulled beginning in January 2020 for U.S. viewers.
