Square Enix has officially announced Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final game in the FF7 Remake trilogy. The reveal took place during Summer Game Fest 2026. Revelation will continue the journey of Cloud and his party following the events of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The game is set to conclude the remake project's retelling of the original Final Fantasy VII.

The Final Fantasy VII Revelation reveal trailer opens with Sephiroth calling down Meteor, one of the most iconic threats in the series. The scene quickly escalates as the Weapons are shown awakening across the world. These massive bio-mechanical guardians are designed to protect the Planet and counter the threat of Jenova.
The trailer then shifts to Cloud and his party aboard Cid Highwind's airship, highlighting a new sense of scale and movement in the journey. Final Fantasy VII Revelation also confirms that Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine will be playable characters in the game.

Naoki Hamaguchi, one of the directors on Final Fantasy VII Revelation, shared a message following the game's announcement at Summer Game Fest 2026.
"We've finally announced FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION. I'm very happy we were able to showcase the long-awaited Highwind flight. We're committed to delivering the ultimate experience in Spring 2027."
Hamaguchi's comments reflect the team's excitement about bringing back the iconic Highwind sequence from Final Fantasy VII. The statement highlights the importance of faithfully recreating memorable moments from the original game.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation Release Date and Platforms
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is set to launch in Spring 2027. The game will release simultaneously across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
The release details were also confirmed via the official Final Fantasy VII X account shortly after the Summer Game Fest 2026 reveal.
Revelation is the final entry in the FF7 Remake trilogy, concluding the reimagined storyline that began with Final Fantasy VII Remake and continued in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
