'Today' Hosts Cosign Steven Spielberg's Belief That Aliens Are Real
Humans have questioned the existence of life on other planets for centuries - including celebrities such as Demi Lovato, Tom DeLonge and Gigi Hadid.
Lovato opened up about watching the 2020 documentary Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind on the "Wild Ride! with Steve-O" podcast in April of that year. The film explores the possibility of extraterrestrial civilizations and how they can make contact with humans.
"The first encounter would be, like, seeing a UFO," Lovato explained. "The second would be some kind of proof being left behind. The third encounter would be, like, you have some sort of interaction with the alien. The fourth is, like, you're on board, you get abducted and then the fifth is human-initiated contact with aliens. I sound nuts right now."
DeLonge, for his part, is a longtime believer in aliens and UFOs. The Blink-182 musician revealed in February 2015 that he's read 200 books about extraterrestrials.
"I don't spend my time looking at UFO reports or talking to little green men," he told Paper magazine at the time. "I'm way past that. If anybody tells you there's no life in the universe, you should be turned off. That's just such a dumb thing to say."

Goldie Hawn
Hawn claimed she had a "powerful" encounter with extraterrestrials in the California desert when she was 20 years old, noting that "a lot of UFO sightings" were circulating at the time.
"They touched my face and it felt like the finger of God," she explained during an October 2023 episode of Apple Fitness+'s "Time to Walk" audio program, per People. "It was the most benevolent, loving feeling. This was powerful. It was filled with light."
Hawn noted that she got a "high-pitched sound" in her ear at a "high, high frequency" before looking out the window to see "two or three triangular-shaped heads" looking at her. "They were silver in color, slash for a mouth, tiny little nose, no ears," she said.
She recalled the aliens "pointing at" her and "droning" making her feel like a "subject."
"I could not move. I was paralyzed," she said. "I didn't know if it was real or not real." Hawn added that she eventually was able to "burst" free from the situation.
Admitting that she didn't remember the experience until years later while meeting with an astrophysicist, she noted that the beings "touched" her face, adding, "It felt like the finger of God. It was the most benevolent, loving feeling. This was powerful. It was filled with light."
Olivia Rodrigo
Rodrigo brought up her interest in the extraterrestrial while fielding questions about her rumored feud with Taylor Swift. "I don't have beef with anyone. I'm very chill. I keep to myself. There's so many Twitter conspiracy theories. I only look at alien-conspiracy theories," she told Rolling Stone in September 2023.
Tiffany Haddish
Haddish shared her thoughts on aliens in an interview published in August 2023. "I do believe in aliens to a certain extent," she told Yahoo Entertainment. "I'm pretty sure I work with some. But I do believe in them. … They're in Hollywood, New York, Alabama, Atlanta. All of Georgia … Particularly in Peachtree, Georgia. I think that's where they're really at. Texas. They're everywhere." The outlet noted that Haddish said all this before the July 2022 U.S. congressional hearings that many observers interpreted as evidence that aliens exist.
Whoopi Goldberg
Goldberg revealed in July 2023 that she already "knew" aliens existed before a congressional hearing on UFOs and aliens claimed the U.S. government recovered "non-human" remains from space objects.
"I don't know why everybody else is so surprised. We're not the only ones in the universe. We're just not," Goldberg said on an episode of The View. "There are more things in heaven and Earth that we are aware of, and we have to be aware of, because that is the nature of being an earthling. It's going to happen, it has happened, and, so far, we're alright."
The Ghost actress added that the alleged existence of aliens doesn't mean humans are in danger. "67 years, I can say I haven't seen any zapping happen, I haven't seen things that you see in the movies, so, maybe they're not adversaries," Goldberg said. "Maybe they're just trying to get along!"
When asked whether she thinks aliens are "among us," Goldberg fired back, "Yes, I do believe."

They later claimed that they had an alien experience before filming the docuseries Unidentified With Demi Lovato for Peacock. "We went out into the desert in Joshua Tree and I basically saw this blue orb that was about 50 feet away, maybe less, and it was kind of, like, floating above the ground, just like 10 or 15 feet, and it was kind of keeping its distance from me," Lovato told Daily Pop in September 2021.

According to the U.K.'s i newspaper, the late Duke of Edinburgh was fascinated by the subject of aliens. His interest seemingly spiked after his uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten, wrote an official report about a UFO landing at his estate.
"I'm quite proud of Prince Philip. Why shouldn't he have been interested in UFOs?" writer John Hanson, who claims Philip had a dozen of his books on aliens, said. "Because for goodness sake, that is something that we should treat seriously rather than flippantly. It is a phenomenon that has baffled mankind for millennia."
Miley Cyrus
The "Midnight Sky" singer detailed an encounter she had with a UFO during an interview with Interview magazine in October 2020. "The best way to describe it is a flying snowplow. It had this big plow in the front of it and was glowing yellow," she explained. "I did see it flying, and my friend saw it, too." Cyrus added that she saw "a being sitting in front of the flying object" and that "it looked at me and we made eye contact."

I start to see this show and I say, ‘Wait a minute, that's the night I was landing in Phoenix.'"
Aaron Rodgers
The Green Bay Packers quarterback claimed he spotted a UFO when he was 20 years old. "It looks like commercial jets kinda flying – or maybe it's a military jet – and they're trying to figure out what's coming through the clouds and you see like a fiery movement of cloud, I guess, coming through the sky," Rodgers said on the "You Made It Weird" podcast in March 2016. "Then the plane eventually runs into the spaceship, which is coming into orbit. It was like ... a large, orange, left-to-right moving object."
Jennifer Lawrence
The Passengers star shared her fear of aliens on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in December 2015. "Based on history, when we find each other, we kill each other," Lawrence explained. "I don't feel like aliens are going to be like, 'Oh, great! Let's get along.' They might not. They might want to destroy us. Have you seen a Tom Cruise movie? So, sometimes I look up into the stars and I'm like, 'Oh, wow. Oh, God."
Tom DeLonge
"I don't think we're working underground with aliens. I don't think it's like that, like some dumb conspiracy theorists think," the Angels & Airwaves singer told Paper magazine in February 2015. "What's going to be are remnants of other civilizations: architecture, old monuments, machinery, things that have been fossilized, whatever, and then that will get dripped out for another 30 to 40 years. Maybe there was a civilization there."
Halle Berry
The Catwoman star told David Letterman in July 2014 that she doesn't think humans are the only life forms in the universe. "I don't believe we are the only species in existence," Berry said. "It might take us 20 years to get to those other life forms, but I think they are out there."
Jaden Smith
The "Ghost" rapper confirmed his belief in aliens after an illuminating conversation with Barack Obama. "I talked to President Obama about extraterrestrials. He said he could neither confirm nor deny the existence of aliens, which means they're real," Smith told Wonderland magazine in April 2013. "If people think we're the only people that live in this universe, then something is wrong with them."
