New PS1-Inspired JRPS with Playable Demo Revealed to be Coming to Gamescom
Solo developer 2nd Player Games and publisher Deck13 Spotlight have revealed Full Circle, a JRPG inspired by the golden era of PS1 role-playing games. Honestly, that sounds sick.
The title was officially shown off during the Indie Quest 2026 Showcase. Here, developers unveiled the first trailer for the game and even confirmed that players will be able to go hands-on with a playable demo at Gamescom later this year.
Full Circle was designed as a love letter to classic JRPGs, drawing inspiration from Lunar, Breath of Fire, and The Legend of Dragoon, and mixing it with modern visuals and gameplay.
Imagine a future where humans live in floating cities in the sky and young heroes are trained to go into the strange wilderness below to protect those above. Despite the years of monotonous repetition, this time, a routine mission uncovers various long-buried secrets that change what everyone thought they knew about the world.
Full Circle uses a 2.5HD pixel-art style mixed with fluid controls in turn-based, strategic combat. Players will be able to take advantage of chain attacks, trigger combos, and even swap party members during battles.
Currently, Full Circle is still in development for PC and consoles, with the first playable demo coming to Gamescom this August.
