Darion Lowenstein, Trixie Mattel to be honored at Gayming Awards

May 11 (UPI) -- Darion Lowenstein and Trixie Mattel will be honored at this year's Gayming Awards.

Organizers announced in a press release Monday that Lowenstein, a video game producer and director and the CEO of Secret Code, will receive the Gayming Icon Award at the awards show in June.

Mattel, a television personality and drag performer who came to fame as a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race, will be honored with the LGBTQ+ Content Creator Superstar Award.

The Gayming Awards is an annual event celebrating "queer geek culture." The sixth annual ceremony will air June 8 at 10 p.m. ET on WOW Presents Plus.

Drag Race alum Dawn and voice actor Erika Ishii (Ghost of Yotei, Apex Legends) will host the awards show.

Special guests include Drag Race's Farrah Moan and Rock M Sakura, Evan Michael Lee and Chase Kolozsi, aka the Gaymer Guys, Prisnodo CEO Leslie Pirritano, and actor Alex Stompoly.
