‘Beverly Hills Cop' Star Judge Reinhold Back With Eddie Murphy in Rare Appearance 42 Years After the Film

Judge Reinhold, the beloved '80s star, is back on the red carpet with his former co-star Eddie Murphy.

Reinhold, 68, rose to fame in films like Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Stripes, and Ruthless People, and scored later success in The Santa Clause and on Seinfeld. But it was his role opposite Murphy in 1984's Beverly Hills Cop and its various sequels that many instantly associate with the star. Now, the actor is back on the red carpet!

Murphy, of course, rose to fame as a stand-up comic before hitting Saturday Night Liveand going on to beloved roles in films like Coming to America and Trading Places, and that's why the star was honored this past weekend with the 2026 AFI Life Achievement Award at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. He and Reinhold looked great in a sweet embrace, recapturing the days of Axel Foley and Detective Billy Rosewood, their iconic Cop characters.

Mike Myers Honored Eddie Murphy Onstage

During the big event this past weekend, Mike Myers, who is currently working on Shrek 5, didn't let the opportunity pass by without breaking a few jokes. The icon hit the stage to honor Murphy, and did so in full Shrek greenery.

"None of the ‘Shrek' success could have happened without Eddie Murphy; his character Donkey is a masterpiece," said Myers, USA Today reported. "As is every character that Eddie has created. … It is an absolute honor to be able to tell my kids that I got to work with Eddie Murphy."
