How Streaming Prices Will Change In 2026: From Netflix To Spotify
As America gets ready to ring in the New Year, people everywhere are wondering what 2026 will have in store for them. And though life is full of uncertainties, there are a few things that can be relied upon-death, taxes, and the prices of your streaming subscription going up.
But which streaming services are raising their prices, and by how much? Newsweek has listed the world's biggest streaming services and whether they are changing their prices in 2026.
Netflix
Netflix has not announced a streaming price change in 2026, as of reporting.
The streaming giant recently announced that it will acquire Warner Bros. Discovery’s film and streaming divisions in an $83 billion takeover, following extensive negotiations and a heated bidding war against Comcast and Paramount Skydance.
Following news of the acquisition, Netflix emailed its subscribers and said that nothing is changing as of right now, but did not rule out future price changes.
The deal remains subject to shareholder and regulatory approval.
Spotify
Spotify could be set to raise its subscription prices in early 2026, according to a report from the Financial Times. Exact details of the price increase are not currently known, though it has been speculated that it will be around $1. Spotify has not confirmed the report or publicly confirmed that it will raise its prices.

Paramount+
Prices are increasing on Paramount+.
As part of its earnings report, Paramount announced that it will raise prices for U.S. subscribers on January 15, 2026. This will bring the ad-supported Essential plan from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. The ad-free Premium plan will go from $12.99 to $13.99 per month.
HBO Max
HBO Max announced in October that it would raise its prices, effective immediately. Prices raised by $1 per month, or by $10 annually, taking the prices up to $10.99 and $109.99.
Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video has not confirmed a price increase for 2026 as of reporting. There have been multiple speculative reports, citing analysts who project an increase of around $20, but these have not been confirmed.
