Jay-Z took legal action of his own after being accused of rape in a recent civil lawsuit. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, the 55-year-old rapper asked to dismiss the civil suit “for lack of subject matter jurisdiction due to the plaintiff’s lack of standing,” claiming that the Jane Doe “provided no evidence” to the court that would “justify pseudonymity.” News broke on Sunday, Dec. 8, that Jay-Z was named alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in the lawsuit, which claimed that the alleged victim was assaulted by the musicians at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000 when she was 13 years old. Jay-Z denied the accusations in a lengthy statement shared Sunday and requested in his court docs that the accuser’s identity be “disclosed immediately.” Keep reading for more of Us Weekly’s top stories:
