Universal Orlando trying to lure Florida guests with a deal for unlimited visits
After shutting down for nearly three months, Universal Orlando is eager to get customers back, screaming and crying from adrenaline, the company says on its website. And this new discount package might help.
“We miss you. Like real bad,” the theme park and resort’s website says.
That’s why Universal announced this week that Florida residents can get five months of unlimited visits to Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure for the price of a one-day ticket this summer and fall.
Visitors who purchase tickets from now until Sept. 30 will get to go to the park as many times as they want until Dec. 24 for $164, according to the Universal Orlando website. An extra fee under $30 extends the unlimited visits to Volcano Bay as well.
The offer has no block-out dates, according to the theme park.
The park temporarily closed on March 16 as COVID-19 infections took over the country. The shutdown led to layoffs of an undisclosed number of workers and put the construction of Universal’s new theme park, “Epic Universe,” on pause.
The park reopened on June 3 with new COVID-19 precautions, including mandatory face masks for staff and guests, and social distancing rules.
The construction of “Epic Universe” also resumed over the summer and, on Aug. 1, Universal officially announced the upcoming opening of the new theme park complex, set to feature hotels, shops, restaurants and an entertainment center several miles south of its existing resort.
