Miami’s county-funded downtown museums are temporarily closing their doors due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Pérez Art Museum Miami and Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science announced Saturday they will suspend public admission beginning March 16 “until further notice,” according to a release.

Museum staff will continue working off and on site to care for the facilities and, at Frost, the animal population.

A custodial crew will continue to clean and disinfect the two museums, located in Maurice A. Ferre Park in downtown Miami at 1101 and 1103 Biscayne Blvd.
