How ‘Game of Thrones’ and Florida rank in a survey of illegally downloaded TV shows

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” was the most illegally downloaded TV show in 2019, according to a Soap Hub survey of Google search data.

That’s not surprising.

What is surprising, however, is that for all the griping about the storyline of the show’s eighth and final season, “Game of Thrones” scored low on Soap Hub’s survey of the most complained about TV shows. This, despite nearly two million people signing a Change.Org petition demanding a rewrite of the season “with competent writers.”

Florida, meanwhile, ranked fifth among the states that do the most illegal downloading of TV content in the United States.

According to Soap Hub’s Deadliest Watch report, “Game of Thrones” was illegally downloaded more than 38,500 times per month in 2019.

“Game of Thrones” was also the most pirated show in 2018, according to SoapHub.
