‘Flip or Flop’ stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa separate

Things are not always as they seem in TV land.

Tarek and Christina El Moussa, the seemingly happy couple from HGTV’s highly rated “Flip or Flop” makeover show have separated.

TMZ reports that back in May the husband and wife team had an explosive argument at their Orange County, California, home and officers responded to “a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun.” That would be Tarek.

In a statement released Monday, the El Moussas say they are in counseling but have temporarily split, although professionally the two will carry on. They added that the May incident was an “unfortunate misunderstanding.”

Cops say there was no violence; no charges were filed. But TMZ reports that cops seized five guns from the residence.

HGTV says in a statement regarding the potential scandal that “Flip or Flop” “will continue production as scheduled.”
