States across the nation are celebrating Pride Month throughout June. Despite the specific attention this month, members of the LGBTQ+ community deserve fun and safe places to travel throughout the entire year.

The travel agency Planet Cruise did some digging and discovered that New York City is the supreme spot for a queer getaway.

Timeout provided the details of the agency’s survey. It stated that within the last 12 months, site users searched for “LGTBQ+ Holidays” and “LGTBQ+ trips.” The specification in searching for queer safe places had a 1000% increase. The ranking for the results were based on “marriage laws, safety, and LGBTQ+ activities for all ages.”

Fifteen major cities with legalized same-sex marriage and same-sex adoption laws were presented to users. Naturally, New York came out on top.

  1. New York

  2. London

  3. Rio de Janeiro

  4. Manchester

  5. Amsterdam

  6. Madrid

  7. Paris

  8. São Paulo

  9. Buenos Aires

  10. Brussels

New York produced the most listings for gay and lesbian bars, drag brunches, queer-friendly fine dining and more.

As the home of the Stonewall Inn, New York also has the most Pride and LGBTQ+ events throughout the year. One of the significant findings in the searches was that New York has the most queer-friendly hotels and lodging options.
