This adult summer camp in Miami is exactly what your inner-child needs
Summer camps aren’t only for kids. If you’re feeling a little nostalgic, the adult summer camp at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach, will give you all you need to heal your inner child.
From August 24 to 27, the Standard Spa will turn into Camp Standard, offering the complete adult summer escape with fitness classes, creative workshops, watersports, curated dinners and bespoke spa experiences. Camp Standard has been on hiatus since 2016 and promises nothing but fun during your three-day stay.
Set in the middle of Miami Beach, The Standard’s backdrop of lush tropical foliage with a sparkling pool provides endless views to help with your quest to unplug and become a kid again. The dust-filled cabins have been replaced with beautifully decorated rooms equipped with supremely comfy queen-size beds, a daybed for lounging, a drenching spa rain shower, plus the option of an outdoor terrace.
Timeout reports the itinerary includes all the best of summer camp activities, including tie-dying and kayaking, group astrology, poolside s’mores, bingo games and live music. Unlike your typical youth camp, Camp Standard will have late-night parties in the spa’s famed Turkish hammam.
The food is guaranteed to get an upgrade, too. Forget the mess hall with mystery meat and tasteless ice cream; this adult-only property thought of everything. Camp Standard boasts the Lido Bayside Grill, Café Standard, the Monterrey, and the newest addition, Belle. And while alcohol was a no-no and would have gotten you expelled from camp in your younger years, libations are welcome and included in your overall price at Camp Standard.
The Standard requires campers to commit to the full three-night package when booking. Prices for a single occupancy start at $2,205 and a double occupancy starts at $3,555. The fees include credits for special dinners and food and beverages around the hotel, a $200 credit for the spa, and a 15 percent discount on services. You will also get cool Camp Standard swag to show off to all of your friends when you return home.
