Walt Disney World announces exciting park updates for 2024 booking season
Walt Disney World is making several changes in 2024 to make visiting easier. The theme park recently announced some modifications, including the return of the Disney Dining Plan and relaxing the reservation system.
On Monday, Disney released a statement outlining the changes that will be in place for the 2024 booking season launching on May 31. The announcement, made by Eric Scott, Senior Manager of Communications, says the changes intend to “make planning your future Walt Disney World visits simpler and easier.”
Theme Park Reservations
Disney implemented theme park reservations in 2020, amid reopening after the COVID pandemic. Starting with park visits on Jan. 9, 2024, theme park reservations will no longer be required for date-based tickets. Visitors can now select a ticket date for Jan. 9, 2024, or later, complete their purchase and then prepare for their trip.
The update went on to mention that date-based tickets are the standard ticket option offered to guests. Other admission types may still require reservations to assist the theme park with monitoring attendance.
Before purchasing, potential visitors can check which admission types require park reservations by visiting DisneyWorld.com/ThemeParkReservations.
“Good-to-Go Days” for Annual Passholders
Disney plans to offer special days for Annual Passholders and Disney cast members to visit Walt Disney World theme parks without needing a park reservation. The announcement revealed that Disney plans to “roll out these good-to-go days on an ongoing basis.”
These special dates will be in addition to the recent update, allowing Passholders to visit the theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park. Good-to-go days may vary by park.
Disney Dining Plans
Disney is bringing back a foodie favorite. Visitors staying at Disney Resort hotels will get to choose Disney dining plans as an option if they purchase a vacation package for a stay beginning Jan. 9, 2024. This loved option offers guests the convenience and peace of mind of pre-paying for their meals and snacks. Guests can choose from the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan.
Extended park time to Disney Resort hotel guests
Disney Resort hotel guests will continue to get perks in 2024. Resort guests are already privy to early entry across all four theme parks and now, visitors staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas will continue to get early day access and enjoy extended evening hours on select dates at select parks through 2024.
