AutoCamp elevates the camping experience at new Utah outpost near Zion National Park
For the folks who need a touch of glamor before committing to a nature getaway, you’re in luck.
Travel + Leisure revealed that AutoCamp, known for its glamping properties across the U.S., opened its first Southwest venture on May 1. The hospitality brand has outposts located at Yosemite National Park in California, Cape Cod in Massachusetts, the Catskills in New York, and now Zion National Park in Utah.
AutoCamp Zion’s 16 acres reside along the banks of the Virgin River. Aside from the wide-open space and awe-inspiring views, the property also features accommodations such as an on-site restaurant, a pool, a variety of wellness and leisure experiences, and the spacious and airy Clubhouse, which is a mainstay at AutoCamp properties.
The Clubhouse is the Zion outpost’s centerpiece and houses meeting rooms, lounge areas, a general store, and a restaurant. The space’s aesthetic is a gracious nod to the natural beauty of its surroundings, while also incorporating modern touches. The structure’s oversized windows add to its open feel by providing the perfect view of Utah’s renowned red rocks. The tinges of stone, wood and cork throughout the Clubhouse serve as a harmonious contrast to the clean, midcentury modern design.
“The rich, red earth in Southern Utah is so striking. Rather than pulling those tones into the interior, we chose to accentuate the surrounding landscape by keeping the palette fairly neutral,” Shannon Niehenke, founder of Narrative Design Studio and the designer of the space, said in a press release to Travel + Leisure.
AutoCamp’s all-day restaurant, The Kitchen, will open in June. Guests can expect healthy, vegan, and gluten-free options, as well as comforting camp fare including burgers, pizza and breakfast sandwiches. The general store sells wine, local beers, and snacks to enjoy around the communal campfire, as well as a variety of ingredients for guests to prepare meals inside their Airstreams.
Speaking of which, AutoCamp Zion has 72 custom, 31-foot Airstreams for guests to call home during their stay. Each trailer is equipped with a queen-size bed, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a kitchenette, air conditioning and private patio. Guests can choose from the Classic Airstream Suite, Premium Airstream Suite, X Suite, Accessible Suite, Basecamp Suite and Premium Basecamp Suite, depending on their needs.
Rates at AutoCamp Zion start at $299 per night. Bookings can be made at autocamp.com, and for every booking, AutoCamp donates $1 to Zion Forever Project.
