Shake Shack, the popular burger joint, has teamed up with Toss & Spin, a renowned provider of racket sports, to conduct an engaging and immersive program where novice and seasoned pickleball players can take part in lessons, games, and tournaments for the rapidly expanding sport.

Pickleball, a sport TimeOut notes is somewhat like a cross between ping pong and tennis, has quickly become a global phenomenon and a legitimate business, with celebrities, professional athletes, prominent folks, and people of all ages becoming avid players. This spring marks the launch of the inaugural national Pickleball Club tour, and to celebrate, Shake Shack and the Tennis Channel have partnered together.

The Miami Shores Tennis Club is located at 825 NE 100th St. and will host the all-day Shake Shack Pickleball Club Miami on April 29 from 1 to 6 p.m. After a day of clinics designed for beginners and experienced players, there will be a round robin tournament featuring men’s and women’s doubles as well as mixed doubles.

You might be curious about how everything will go down. The Toss & Spin racket sports pros will be in charge of the clinics. The Intro to Pickleball Clinic (1:30 p.m.; $45 for one hour of instruction) is ideal for players of all skill levels, from complete newbies to those with some experience.

Players at the advanced beginner and intermediate levels who can maintain consistent rallies are welcome to attend the Beginner Advanced/Intermediate Clinic (2:45 p.m.; $45), or if you’ve played pickleball before, but you want to sharpen your skills.

Although neither clinic is required, they both serve as excellent warm-ups for the day’s major, two-hour tournament (4 p.m.; $60). Each ticket for this time slot admits two people. Those who require them can borrow paddles from the staff.

Tickets to the Pickleball Club include not only admission and the opportunity to play, but also an unlimited supply of Shake Shack lemonade, Shack2O, beer, and canned Spritz Society sparkling cocktails. Winners of the tournaments will receive a limited edition Recess x Shake Shack pickleball paddle in addition to other prizes, such as Club merchandise and vouchers for a free ShackBurger.

As an added bonus, the Overtown Youth Center, a youth development program serving at-risk youth in some of South Florida’s most underserved neighborhoods, will receive a donation of 25% of all ticket sales from this event, making it another great reason to support.
