One of Colorado’s top resorts is headed to NYC and opening at Rockefeller Plaza
Experience the opulent atmosphere of Aspen in the heart of New York City! A popular hotel is making its way to the city and will be situated in one of the most legendary locations.
According to Travel + Leisure, a representative from Aspen Hospitality revealed that the Little Nell, widely regarded as Colorado’s finest resort, will soon be opening in the empty offices atop 10 Rockefeller Plaza, home to the “Today” show. The 130-room hotel is an impressive addition to the building, set to open in 2026 and occupying a total of 10 floors. According to the spokesperson, the project needs city approval in order to open.
“It is with great pride and excitement that we announce our intended expansion plans for The Little Nell at Rockefeller Center, the historic heart of Midtown and the most iconic address in the city,” Alinio Azevedo, the CEO of Aspen Hospitality, told the outlet. “As we expand the company’s hospitality division, the development of our brands into urban markets across the country is an important milestone.”
Relais & Châteaux resort The Little Nell, which offers ski-in/ski-out access to Aspen Mountain, first opened in Aspen in 1989. The resort has won the World’s Best Award, has been awarded five diamonds by AAA, and is frequented by Hollywood’s A-list. Opening in New York, this hotel will be the hotel group’s second location overall.
Little Nell is loved by tourists for its exceptional service and laid-back vibe. Pets are treated to homemade peanut butter dog treats while guests are greeted with Ladurée macarons. Small children’s robes and slippers, plush animals, children’s books and vacation journals, and more are all provided for a really memorable stay for families.
The hotel is really situated in a great spot within the city. Visitors will be able to enjoy the lively environment of midtown and be only a few steps away from the world-famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and ice-skating rink during the winter months. Additionally, the hotel offers easy access to some of the city’s most renowned historical sites, such as the Museum of Modern Art and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
