In October 2024, Sun Princess, Princess Cruises’ newest and largest ship ever, will make its American premiere.

Following its launch in February 2024, the Sun Princess will spend a season sailing the Mediterranean and Europe before arriving in the United States and ultimately making its way to Port Everglades, which will be its winter home station. With seven and 14-day itineraries, the new Sphere class ship will set off from Fort Lauderdale, FL for voyages to some of the most widely recognized Caribbean spots.

“We are thrilled about the expansion of the Princess fleet and know that homeporting Sun Princess in Ft. Lauderdale offers a convenient option for guests to explore the most elevated experience ever from the Love Boat,” John Padgett, Princess Cruises president recently said. “The warmth, pristine beauty, and crystal-clear waters found throughout the Caribbean form an idyllic backdrop for our iconic new ship and create the perfect setting for Princess guests to enjoy the stunning views and playful adventure that are magnified on this beautiful, iconic new ship.”

Princess Cruises promises that the Sun Princess’ itinerary for the Caribbean will strike the ideal mix between port stops and unwinding at sea. Additionally, the ship will have “captivating entertainment in state-of-the-art venues, spacious relaxation areas offering stunning views, and the line’s largest-ever casino.” From now until April 19, 2023, you can book the following itineraries, among others:

  • 5-day Caribbean Getaway kicks off the Caribbean season with visits to Amber Cove and Grand Turk

  • 7-day Eastern Caribbean with St. Thomas including a late night in San Juan and a visit to our private island resort Princess Cays

  • 7-day Eastern Caribbean with Bahamas visiting Amber Cove, Grand Turk and a visit to our private island resort Princess Cays

  • 7-day Western Caribbean with Mexico including stops in Cozumel, Belize City and Roatan

  • Combine the 7-day Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean for the ultimate 14-day Caribbean East/West Adventurer.

The 175,500-ton, 4,300-guest Sun Princess, which is currently being constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, will have a variety of fascinating new dining, entertainment, and activity selections, as well as opulent staterooms and suites in a variety of categories.

The largest number of balconies of any Princess ship means more opportunities for passengers to soak in the ship’s namesake Caribbean setting. The Dome, a reimagined entertainment space modeled after Santorini’s terraces, is a great spot to unwind, and the three-story Horizons Dining Room is sure to spark conversation.

The distinctive Princess Medallion, which will be featured on Sun Princess, will further Princess’ lead in providing the intimate service found on smaller vessels without sacrificing the superior facilities found on larger ships.

Cruises departing from the Mediterranean and Europe on the first Sun Princess in 2024 are presently on sale, and Caribbean itineraries will be on sale on April 19, 2023. Visit the website for additional information and images of this ship.
