Ab-Soul announces “The Intelligent Movement Tour” starting this June
2023 has now become synonymous with live music. From Beyonce to Janet Jackson, some of the most sought-after artists will be gracing the public with their on-stage presence throughout the year.
Ab-Soul is the latest artist to add his name to a growing list of upcoming tours, as the rapper announced “The Intelligent Movement Tour” kicking off this summer. The tour, which has its opening night in Toronto, is in support of Ab-Soul’s most recent album, “Herbert.”
The 18-song album was released on December 16, 2022 and featured artists including Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, Russ, SiR and more. According to Revolt, DJ Premier, TaeBeast, Kal Banx, Boi-1da, Sounwave, and more helped to produce the project.
“Herbert,” which was titled after the artist (whose real name is Herbert Anthony Stevens IV), marked Ab-Soul’s first album in six years and his most personal. Billboard notes that “Herbert” was the most introspective release of all of the rapper’s albums, as it discussed topics of family, mental health, and his career in music. Ab-Soul’s 2016 release, “Do What Thou Wilt,” was met with critical acclaim and featured artists including Rapsody, SZA and ScHoolboy Q.
