JetBlue and American Airlines add flights to Barbados from New York and Charlotte

If you’re a frequent flyer with JetBlue or American Airlines, you now have another destination you can traverse with the carriers.

Both airlines announced that they are adding flights to Barbados from various locations in the U.S. later this year, in order to add more accessibility to the Carribean island for travelers. According to Travel Pulse, JetBlue’s second daily flight from JFK Airport in New York to Barbados will be extended through September and October. Service was intended to end in September.

American Airlines will be adding a daily flight from Miami starting August 15 to September 5. This change will increase travel from Miami International Airport to Barbados to three flights per day.American Airlines is also adding daily flights from Charlotte, North Carolina to Barbados starting December 21 through April 3, 2024.

“We’re extremely excited to expand the airlift servicing our U.S. market for 2023 and going into 2024,” stated Eusi Skeete, U.S. Director, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., to Travel Pulse. “We understand that demand for the destination is very high and we’ve been working closely with our longstanding airline partners to meet this demand.”

“We are continuously identifying growth opportunities to expand airlift across the U.S. market and are quite optimistic for the prospect of increased service, particularly as demand for travel to Barbados remains high,” Skeete continued. “We will continue to work closely with our airline partners to create even more travel opportunities as we expand across the U.S.”
