Calling writers of color. This summer is a chance to develop your work as a travel writer. Through a groundbreaking workshop you’ll have an opportunity to work with some of the best. VONA describes itself as the premier multi-genre workshop for BIPOC writers and the home where writers of color come to hone their craft and be in the community. VONA brings together a talented crop of faculty to work with emerging writers of color to explore everything from culture to social justice and more.
BIPOC Travel Writing in Miami
Led by writer, educator and travel columnist Faith Adiele this groundbreaking travel writing workshop is made for people of color.
Traveling memoirists, essayists, poets, bloggers, food writers, and journalists of color are all invited to tell their stories and work on their projects. Taking place in Miami this summer, it is the perfect opportunity to enhance your craft. Work on decolonizing craft, network with publishers, workshop travel stories, generate new work and explore Miami as a community.
Join the program from June 25-July 1, 2023. The application deadline is April 1.
Additionally, Adiele who also serves as a senior editor for Panorama: The Journal of Travel, Place, and Nature is bringing together 6 current and former BIPOC students whose work about Decolonizing Travel will be featured.
