Delta is already spreading holiday cheer as it unveils its holiday flight schedule
We’re only a quarter of the way through the year, but what’s the harm in planning ahead for holiday season travel? Delta is looking out for folks who are already looking toward their end-of-the-year vacations, as the airline has recently announced an increase in its seasonal routes to Latin America and the Caribbean from Atlanta, New York, Detroit and Minneapolis.
The 2023 holiday season will have more than 20% more seats than 2022’s holiday season, making this increase the largest in the airline’s history. At most, Delta will be offering more than 25,000 daily outbound seats to 44 destinations within Latin America and the Caribbean.
“This growth comes as Delta works toward full restoration of its network after operating at 85% overall capacity in 2022, with a key focus on its U.S. hubs,” the airline said in a news release.
Delta is adding routes to the top three Latin American markets – San Juan, Santo Domingo and Santiago – from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The airline, which is the number one carrier to Latin America from Detroit and Atlanta, will be increasing routes to destinations including Montego Bay, Jamaica; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Cancun, Mexico. All flights are currently on sale and will operate from Dec. 16 through Jan. 7.
The airline also made note of its recently added daily nonstop service to Cozumel, Mexico from Atlanta, and its three-times-weekly service from Minneapolis. The Atlanta service restarts Nov. 5, while the Minneapolis service returns Dec. 16.

Travelers who take advantage of these increased routes will also have “an elevated in-flight experience,” said the airline. Faster Wi-fi, more entertainment options – including curated playlists and podcasts in partnership with Spotify – and seasonal beverages will all be added to help improve customers’ travels. On April 1, kid-friendly meals will also be making a return in first-class to accommodate even the youngest of travelers.
