Scotland embraced Snoop Dogg straight off the airplane in true Scottish style

Although Snoop Dogg may be used to the sunny California climate, the iconic rapper threw himself into the Scottish culture upon his arrival to the cold and overcast weather of Scotland in preparation for his Thursday show at the OVO Hydro.

When Snoop arrived in Glasgow, he was given a royal welcome, complete with a special performance from Perthshire bagpiper, Ross Ainslie.

Snoop got a full dose of Scotland’s national instrument, seeing as Scots were eager to show off their heritage to the megastar. At the airport’s suggestion, they hired Ainslie to play the bagpipes.

Just in case the sound of the bagpipes wasn’t enough of a heads up, Ainslie wore a kilt and a high-visibility jacket. Lad Bible notes that though he intended to follow tradition, he decided to honor Snoop with a well-known song rather than a local favorite. Instead, he launched into a really dope performance of Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E.,” and as you can see, Snoop Dogg was really digging it.

In the video shared online, Snoop is seen dancing in circles, and getting down to the pipes as he gives Ainslie the thumbs up before getting into his car.

“Played for @snoopdogg today,” Ainslie wrote on Instagram after posting the clip.

He also posted a photo of himself and the rapper with the caption, “Snoop Dogg getting into the pipes today!”

Although Snoop’s scheduled performance in Scotland for last August 26 was postponed due to “unforeseen scheduling conflicts,” he finally made it there this year for a show at the OVO Hydro.

After the video of Ainslie entertaining Snoop went viral, the internet exploded with compliments for the young musician, who many said “smashed it” and called the entire encounter “classy.”
