Amtrak is offering tickets for as low as $29

Travel providers are getting in on the current travel demand with spring break deals, and Amtrak is no different. The company announced a sale on its Auto Train tickets starting at $29.

According to Travel and Leisure, tickets have to be booked from March 17 and are valid for southbound travel from Lorton, Virginia to Sanford, Florida for getaways from March 10 to June 8. Travelers who take advantage of this opportunity can book a ticket for a seat in coach for as cheap as $29 or book a private room starting at $229. This does not include the cost to transport their vehicle.

Tickets have to be purchased at least three days prior to the trip, and blackout dates apply from March 30 to April 2, and from April 6 to April 8.

“Amtrak is launching a limited-time sale for travelers who want to skip the hassles of driving on I-95 from the Northeast to Florida and bring their vehicle aboard the Auto Train,” Amtrak said in a statement.

The Auto Train allows passengers to to travel non-stop up and down the East Coast, while also transporting their vehicles such as cars, vans, motorcycles and more for an additional cost. The total ride time is 17 hours and 29 minutes. Travelers who book coach will receive a complimentary continental breakfast before they reach their destination.

For a more private experience, Roomettes are available to book starting at $429 with the sale. Roomettes come with bedding, pillows, towels, in-room shower, sink and restroom, an assigned attendant, complimentary dinner and continental breakfast.

Refundability is based on the fare purchased. Coach tickets are non-refundable, but can be exchanged before departure and a 25% cancellation fee may apply. Rooms must be canceled up to 15 days prior to departure and 25% fee may apply as well. To learn more about the deal, head over to Amtrak’s website.
