Pack your bags, call your companions, and get to planning folks, because flights to Paris from JetBlue Airlines are officially available.

Joanna Geraghty, president and chief operating officer of JetBlue revealed the route will begin service on June 29 for less than $500 round trip. The airline initially announced the new route at the end of last year, and it will take off from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and land at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. According to Travel + Leisure, flights from Boston are expected to begin later this year.

“It’s part of our long-term transatlantic strategy... with the routes that are most frequently requested by customers,” Geraghty said. “When we go into Europe, I think oftentimes the notion of a low-cost carrier is viewed differently through a European lens… we’re very much not that. It’s a low fare and a great experience.”

From the United States, round-trip fares for “core” will start at $479 and for “Mint” at $1,899. JetBlue will be using its Airbus A321 Long Range aircraft for the flights, which will feature 24 Mint suites, including two larger Mint Studio suites, and 114 core seats (the airline’s version of economy).

With a partnership with fast-casual restaurant Dig for a build-your-own meal concept, the service will be fundamentally similar to JetBlue’s other transatlantic service to London, which according to CBS News, the airline launched in August 2021 and later expanded.

The planes will have JetBlue’s distinctive free unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi and live TV channels, as well as extra-large overhead bins. Geraghty promised that the onboard entertainment would have “French flair” by offering a selection of French films.
