Travel like a queen: Vacation ideas inspired by Beyonce
Teasing the release of her seventh studio album “Renaissance” this past fall, Beyoncé Knowles Carter told Harper’s Bazaar, “With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love and laugh again … I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.” Pack your bags and load your playlist if you plan to follow the Queen’s pronouncement and head to one of her favorite travel destinations on your next getaway.
Explore Iceland
Constantly drizzled in diamonds for Bey and Jay, Iceland just makes sense. The couple spent the rapper’s 45th birthday there in 2020 and showed us how to navigate the snow in style. They stayed at an exclusive resort called The Trophy Lodge, which is only available through a conversation with the front desk at Tower Suites, the owner’s other property. The rest of their itinerary, however, was more accessible, including activities like snowmobiling and a trip to the famous Blue Lagoon.
Indulge Paris
In Paris, Beyoncé’s preferred place to stay is Hotel Le Meurice. The property has long been a rest stop for artistic visionaries with notable guests ranging from Salvador Dalí and Andy Warhol to Bob Dylan on their historic ledger. The couple is known to seek out eateries to satisfy their refined palates. Some of their favorite local Paris spots include Fouquet’s, Costes and Le Cinq among others. Beyoncé has been spotted in more casual moments rocking cartoon character hats at Disneyland Paris, and even invests in Paris-based fashion line DESTREE.
Experience Arizona
Beyoncé put Phoenix on the map when she honeymooned there in 2008. Tucked away in a landscape of iconic red-rock outcroppings, Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa catered to the couple with its Asian-inspired spa services and exclusive villas, each of which has a tennis court, game room, gourmet kitchen and sweeping deck. The pair returned to Arizona nine years later for an anniversary trip complete with wine tasting and Grand Canyon helicopter adventures.
