Bright lights, fresh fashion and pulsating rhythms return to Montego Bay this summer for Reggae Sumfest.

The revelry kicks off on July 18 with face-painting, storytelling, costumed characters and more at the fun-filled Community Fest.

As the sun goes down, the vibe transitions to the first sweat-dripping, bass-bumping party of the week, Street Dance.

The next night is “All White,” where party-goers don ivory ensembles to make the scene.

For those whose closets contain darker shades, the “All Black Beach Chic” theme of Wednesday night’s Blitz party may be the chance to show out. On Thursday July 21, artists from around the world gather to put on the final festival event before the headlining nights at Global Sound Clash.

Bringing the weekend into full swing, Friday night’s main stage will feature artists like Shenseea, who has recent tracks with both Kanye West and Megan Thee Stallion, the Love & Hiphop: Atlanta-star Spice (also known as Queen of Dancehall) and other big names in the genre like Alkaline, Aidonia, Teejay and Iwaata.

On Saturday, the throwdown continues with headlining stars like Beres Hammond and Koffee, who, at just 19 years old, became the youngest person (and first woman) to be awarded the Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 2019.

Back in full operation for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses around the island are already reporting record levels of incoming traffic and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to recoup some of the losses of the past two years.
