Krista Scruggs and her wine label, Zafa Wines, are doing something bold and inventive with an intentional simplicity. Their wines are made without filters or additives, their grapes grown without herbicides or pesticides. The resulting products are intentionally inventive, playing with fruits like apple and pineapple. The vintner even has a program that lets wine enthusiasts try their experimental creations. Queer-owned and dedicated to maintaining an 85% female staff, this label’s approach to the industry is full of promise for the consumer unwilling to compromise on quality or flair.
