Read for yourself: The AP African American Studies class curriculum

The syllabus for the College Board’s AP African American Studies course was provided Wednesday to the Herald/Times by attorney Craig Whisenhunt.

Whisenhunt, along with civil rights attorney Ben Crump, announced they will be representing three high school juniors in a lawsuit if the Florida Department of Education moves forward with its decision to ban the new course in Florida classrooms.

This curriculum was released on a preliminary basis by the College Board and tested in some schools. The College Board said Tuesday in a statement that it expected to release a final version on Feb. 1.
