Champagnat Catholic School announced four football players signed scholarship papers on National Signing Day: Steven Claude (Wake Forest), Wayne Clarington (Shasta College in Redding, California), Michael Fredrick (South Dakota) and Keddrick Labady (Northen Michigan).

“We are all very proud. They put the effort in the classroom and on the field,” Champagnat athletic director Isabel C. Alonso said of the student-athletes.

Clarington’s brother, Texas commit Devonaire Clarington of Miami Booker T. Washington, was in attendance so he could sign at the same time as his brother.

Claude, ranked as the 24th-best prospect in the Miami-Dade and Broward area by the Miami Herald, has been committed to Wake Forest since June 2014 and the wide receiver never publicly wavered.

Champagnat offensive guard Christian Strachan did not make his announcement on Signing Day, but did have a recent recruiting trip to South Alabama.
