Six Westminster Christian football players choose colleges on National Signing Day
Westminster Christian is sending multiple athletes to local universities Florida International and Florida Atlantic.
The Warriors had six official football signings Wednesday on National Signing Day.
Westminster football coach Sedrick Irvin, while addressing the crowd, said: “Today is a special day for the program. These six guys did what they needed to do to put themselves in the position where they can play on the next level.”
Wide receiver Elbre Gaiter IV signed his letter of intent with FIU. Gaiter represents one of the bigger prospects for the Panthers’ signing class this year.
Gaiter chose FIU on Nov. 22 and never publicly wavered on his commitment.
Florida Atlantic received commitments from tight end John Raine and defensive tackle Robbie Stewart. Raine had been a longtime target for FAU. He originally committed last August 2.
Westminster outside linebacker James Sutton officially signed with Colorado State after being committed to the Rams his entire senior season.
Defensive tackle Oscar Patterson committed to Tuskegee University, and wide receiver Akil Oliver committed to Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky to round up the Warriors’ signing class.
