Columbus linebacker Josh Uche selects Michigan on National Signing Day
Columbus’ pair of highly touted recruits Joshua Uche and Jerron Rollins signed their letters of intent early Wednesday, taking much of the mystery away during a noon press conference.
Uche officially signed with the University of Michigan, concluding an eventful recruiting process. Asked what he wants to accomplish with the Wolverines, the star linebacker said: “The goal is to try to play right away.”
Uche officially committed to the Wolverines on Jan. 24 after his official visit to Ann Arbor on Jan. 22. He received up to 16 offers and took official visits to the University of Florida and Auburn University before ultimately deciding on the Wolverines.
Rollins signed with the University of Cincinnati.
“They’re a good school,” he said. “I really liked the coaches.”
The star wide receiver had remained uncommitted until the final days before National Signing Day.
Columbus also announced the signing of Kyle Mann to Bryant University (Rhode Island) and fellow offensive lineman Michael Ricardo to Florida Tech (Melbourne, Fla.).
