Miami Norland’s Emmett Rice signs with FSU, Vosean Joseph with UF on National Signing Day
Emmett Rice and Vosean Joseph, Miami Norland’s talented linebacker duo, are staying in the state of Florida.
Rice, the 15th-ranked outside linebacker in the country by Rivals, signed his letter of intent to play at Florida State. The four-star recruit verbally committed to FSU in February 2015.
“I’ll be taking my talents to Tallahassee,” said Rice, who was wearing a Christmas-style FSU sweater. “FSU was really the first big program to offer. They’ve always been loyal to me. It’s just a perfect fit for me.”
Rice took a recent visit to Louisville, but he “always had Florida State intentions in mind.”
Joseph, another highly touted outside linebacker, signed his letter of intent to play at Florida. The three-star prospect made his final decision Tuesday night, choosing the Gators over Alabama.
“The loyalty. The constancy. Florida coaches hit me up every day,” said Joseph, who verbally committed to Florida last February. “A lot of people in my family wanted [Alabama]. I always knew it was Florida.”
Defensive back Bryon Brown is headed to Central Florida. The two-star prospect was committed to the Knights and de-committed last month after a visit, only to verbally commit back to UCF one day later.
“It was just the pressure put on me from other schools. This recruiting process can be crazy sometimes,” Brown said. “Ever since I met coach [Scott] Frost and the other coaches on the staff, I felt like it was the best opportunity for me.”
Wide receiver Jordan Robinson committed to Northern Illinois.
Defensive back Sam Marc is spending “the next four years” at Bethune-Cookman.
Athlete Rodrick Robinson is headed to Tennessee State, and offensive lineman Joshua Green is going to Lincoln University.
