Hialeah Gardens puts an end to 30-game skid
On Friday, Hialeah Gardens did something it hadn’t done in 30 games: the Gladiators won. With a victory against Westland Hialeah, the Gladiators gleamed with delight under a lopsided scoreboard.
“It means a lot to us,” senior Malcolm Anestor said. “We were on a 30-game losing streak. We showed everybody we could do it. We can win. It has been rough the last few years.”
The Gladiators led 18-0 at halftime after a touchdown run by Maury Ramos, a touchdown catch by Khostin Diaz, and two safeties. Chris Martin added a 4-yard run.
Ramos had 14 carries for 104 yards in the victory.
